Osama Bin Laden
May 1, 2011 mark the calendar as a historic day. Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that killed thousands of innocent Americans was gunned down in a hideout in Pakistan bringing to an end a manhunt which went on for a decade.
President Barack Obama said, “Justice has been done” as crowds gathered outside the White House to celebrate and hundreds waved the American flag at the ground zero in New York where the twin towers which was once the symbol of Americas economic power collapsed by the planes that crashed into the buildings.
I was glued to the television as well as the internet to gather as much information I could, basically for the reason that I couldn’t believe. There were speculation of chances of cloning but once when the DNA Testing matched the slain terrorist leader it was confirmed.
America and the world have been waiting for this day where the perpetrators of this heinous crime could be brought to justice. Osama Bin Laden and his followers were responsible for many other attacks across the globe which has killed hundreds of innocent lives. And by bringing down Osama Bin Laden the most wanted terrorist, America has sent a message that no matter how long it takes justice will be served and that it will prevail. Definitely it is a commendable job by the US Navy SEALs and CIA paramilitary forces.
But the question is, would this be an end to terrorism? This is a question yet to be answered and I leave it in the hands of time.
