As a person within the UK can see, the European approach in self-defence dealings is much difficult to accept by the public which insists on harder laws for criminals and more accessible self-defence legislation for normal citizens. What Europeans see as the perfect self-defence resolution is the US and the Texas Castle Doctrine.
Criminal lawyers and legal experts have long been critisising the existing Texas jurisdiction in the US for being a bit distracted from the European Convention of Human Rights and worldiwide human rights protection doctrines. However, the people of Texas and throughout the US seem to favour the approach undertaken by the state and, subjectively speaking, it is a method of perfection for distinguishing between criminals and innocent people.
The Castle Doctrine is a technique in the criminal law that protects the citizen rather than the outlaws. The approach is quite straightforward as it gives the people the opportunity to defend their homes - your home is a place where you enjoy the comfort of personal safety and a place where you accept not only as rightfully yours but as a location different from any other since this is your natural ’habitat’. Somebody breaking into your home is basically violating your safety, psychologically abusing your feel of belonging to a the first place on earth where you feel protected by your right of occupiance. So in Texas … you can shoot anyone violating your right to enjoy the safety of your home.
This approach seems quite harsh on the white-haired, comfortably seated in their expensive offices European lawyers, but Americans have found a method quite successful in dealing with the matters of self-defence. They proved that they are not only being good in distributing perfect second hand audi cars, but also established themselves as a legislative power that would not allow its citizens to be mistreated no matter the legal critisism coming from abroad.
